As long as I remember I held conversations with myself.
At times of stress I address myself in the third person
and ask for help.
The conversation takes place on paper, where images
replace letters. The characters I create come out of the paper out
of their own volition and present themselves to me, I recognise
in them faces of my own personhood.
On a mission of self discovery I am in search for
new landmarks hidden in the vast continent of self. The well of
my subconscious is the main source of my inspiration.
I need to acquaint myself to all my parts which hold
me wholesome before I cease being.
My creative journeys lead me through unknown destinations.
I do not determine the direction it takes. I rather allow inspiration
to dictate the outcomes without my interference. The results take
me by surprise.
The creative process is a rewarding and enriching
experience.
I am driven to paint in order to mentally survive.
I give birth to images which ignite the pilot of my own existence.
At the age of 3, I asked my dad to supply me with
pastels and papers. That child in me continues painting.
